Jammin in the Van

Jamin in the van
Makin our way in the middle of the night
Stoked and flyin low
Waited 2 long years to book this gig
In the heart of muscle shoals

Rollin down the highway
Jammin as we go
A soul funk band in a neon van
On a lonely mountain road

Jamin in the van
Jamin in the van
Micro dosing, champagne toasting
Jamin in the van

When suddenly we heard a !%#*
Good lord, that don’t sound good
Our big break now left to fate
We got smoke’s pouring outta the hood
Lord have mercy

Then from outta nowhere
There came an eerie glow
Blinding lights on a pitch black night
Lookin like a ufo, oh no

Keeps coming, coming closer
Sleek and rollin slow
Hold on, that’s just a burly chap he’s drivin a cadillac
A vintage one with fins and all
N’ he’s yellin, “where y’all lookin to go?”

A savior on a mountain road
Stops when he sees some weary souls
Says i’m gonna help ya save the day

And when the sun came up smilin
Everyone we passed was taken aback
Our little funk band was jamin thru the night
While being towed by a vintage cadillac
We’re hooked up to a
Vintage cadillac

Jamin in the van
Jamin in the van
Micro dosing, champagne toasting
Givin it up to the man
He’s the man!

Needless to say on that fateful day
He got us to our show (right on time)
A big hug and a smile from the burly guy
He turned left and he headed back home (he’s gone?)

Now, you can bet we played our hearts out
Kept on killin it till they ran us out the door

And we dedicated every note we played
To a savior we’d never know

We keep jamin in the van
Jamin in the van
Micro dosing, champagne dosing
Given it up to the man
My man!

Jamin in the van
Jamin in the van
Micro dosin, champagne toastin
Jamin in the van
