Nine Lives

Everybody has their moments
No matter how young or old
Mostly clear about all their yesterdays
But,
Tomorrow, well, heaven knows

My tables been set so many times
There’s a few I can’t recall
Some tasted bitter and some so sweet
Some had no taste at all

Like a cat, who always lands right side up
I’ve had my own nine lives
Somewhere, someone’s watching over me
When I color outside the lines

I can’t unsee my daydreams
Search rainbows for a new pot o gold
Curiosity may get the best of me
But, I gotta create
Wherever I go
No matter the highs or the lows

I’ve had nine lives to live, nine lives to care,
Nine lives to laugh, nine lives to share
Nine lives to love, nine lives to play
I’ve had nine lives to dance every day

Nine lives

Been spun around, been straightened out
I’ve sat on top of the world
I been knocked down
But I never give up
Always searching for the next precious pearl

Now I don’t claim some special place
All seems mysterious to me
I see so many in the breakdown down lane
While others fly by free

(music break)

Now some walk around like they’re dreaming
Some walk around wide awake
Some can’t believe what they’re seeing
Some sit it out from the pain
Me, I’d go round 9 times again

Nine lives to live, nine lives to care,
Nine lives to laugh, nine lives to share
Nine lives to love, nine lives to play
Nine lives to dance every day
