So Wanna Believe

Tears filled my eyes last Saturday
As I witnessed the evening news
I watched men flying flags of hatred
And chanting their wicked views

It all began as a protest
Supremacy parading their tribe
But, when it ended
Nineteen were on the ground
Three innocents lost they lives

Oh No, I so wanna believe
That this too shall pass
But, I know
If we just let it be
We’ll be bound
By the same old past

Now the faithful and the Clergy
They sang on the steps of the church
Then Mad Dogs crossed the line
Over This little light o’ mine
To satisfy some hunger and thirst

Oh No, I so wanna believe
This too shall pass

But, I know, if we just let it be we’ll be bound
By the same old past

So, send out this message
Send it out loud and clear
To unite this color filled nation
We can’t just wish and make it real

Now the leader of the free world
From the tower, he calls home
With a straight face, he asked the Nation
“Can you tell who’s right and who’s wrong?”

Well, it doesn’t take a certified genius
Or even a downright fool
To know when shadows cross your neighbor
You can bet they’ll be crossing you.
